Do the internet need one more tutorial?

I’m mainly focusing on Calisthenics/fitness in this post, but I believe this reflects the current state of the internet.

Years ago, while watching a Daniel Laizan’s video on YouTube (if you’re into Calisthenics like me, you probably know his name), I scrolled to the comments. Someone asked him to do a Front Lever (FL) tutorial, and he answered something like: “Why would I need to? There are already enough tutorials on YouTube.”

This answer struck me. Indeed, there is so much information nowadays. You can find a tutorial for almost anything fitness-related. It’s both a blessing and a curse.

Every day, thousands of articles and videos emerge, claiming to reveal new secret ways to do something. Some people swear this method is the best, while someone else says otherwise. This is the reality of the internet right now: almost every creator is aiming for views (and they often target beginners, as this demographic represents the largest viewer churn).

So, what should you do as a beginner?

  • Choose a reputable resource and put in the effort. Don’t chase the latest shiny thing (which is usually just clickbait).

Besides the fundamentals, different people will have different ways of doing things, and you know what? They all work.

The most important thing is the work you are willing to put in. There are no legitimate shortcuts to mastering an advanced skill, whether it’s a complex Calisthenics movement or any other challenging endeavor. The journey of learning and improvement requires patience, perseverance, and a commitment to the fundamentals, regardless of the specific tutorial you choose to follow.

Anyway, this is a picture of I doing Front Lever
